Thanksgiving at the Jail

November 28
We have another opportunity to share Christ's love at the Genesee County Jail this Thanksgiving!
For the last several years we've had the privilege of spending Thanksgiving morning with those within the Genesee County Jail. As well as share the Gospel, we're also able to bless both the inmates, and the staff with Thanksgiving dinner, and offer homemade pies to every Sheriff Deputy on duty.
We have multiple ways in which you can serve this holiday season. In order to feed everyone we need volunteers to cook turkeys and/or bake pies! We need 45 turkeys and 65 pies to be exact! If cooking and baking aren't on your list of spiritual giftings, you can apply to join us Thanksgiving morning as we enter into the facility to pray and share the Gospel. The time commitment for this visit is 9a-12p on Thursday, November 28th. All Genesee County Jail Serving Applications must be filled out by November 18th at 11:59p.
Turkey and Pie Guidlines:
Turkeys must be 15 pounds or larger. They need to be cooked, de-boned, and placed in a ziploc bag. Frozen turkeys will not be accepted.
Pies must be homemade and baked in a disposable container. Containers cannot be returned. Apple, pumpkin, and pecan pies are preferred.
All food items will need to be delivered to The River Holly Community Center on November 27th at 11a or The River Burton on November 27th at 1p.
Pray about where the Lord would have you serve Him, then fill out the appropriate form below.
