Giving

Why do we give?

At The River Church, we believe everything we have comes from the Lord, therefore, giving is an act of worship and trust. “The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it” Psalm 24:1. When we give, we’re not simply supporting a church organization — we are participating in the work of God across our communities and beyond. Through generosity, we help proclaim the Gospel, disciple families, invest in the next generation, care for those in need, and reach people in every community the Lord leads us to. Scripture teaches that giving is a matter of the heart. In Matthew 6:21 Jesus said, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Our giving reflects our trust in Him and our desire to see lives transformed by the power of Christ.

We do not give out of guilt. We do not give out of pressure. We give because God has been generous to us, and we desire to be obedient and faithful stewards of what He has entrusted to us.“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

If you are a guest at The River Church, please hear this clearly — there is no expectation for you to give. Giving is for those who call The River Church home and want to worship the Lord through joyful, faithful generosity.

Ways to Give

Simply click the link below and log in to our partner site, Planning Center Online. If you don’t have an account yet, please create one and it will securely save all of your information, allow you to setup recurring payments, and update your family information in our system.

Giving is always a part of our gatherings each weekend. We believe that giving sacrificially is an act of worship, so we encourage you to give during a gathering, or you can also stop by the office during the week, located at 8393 E. Holly Rd. Holly, MI 48442.

Giving is now as simple as sending us a text message! Simply send "Give $20" to "1-877-856-4751"and you will receive instructions to set it up, then you just text the amount you wish to give to that same number.

AutomatAn easy way to give to The River is by setting up an automatic bill-pay through your bank. If you’d like to mail a check, please send it to The River Church, 8393 E. Holly Rd. Holly, MI 48442. Please do not send cash through the U.S. Postal Service.



What is The Power of 3?

In February of 2019, we received an envelope from Daniel, an inmate at the Marion Correction Institution in Ohio. Inside was a check made out to The River Church for $3. Daniel, had been impacted by our ministry and believed in the work God is doing in and through The River Church. So much so, that he continued to donate his $3 paycheck regularly, his way helping the church reach as many people as we can with the gospel. We were so blessed by his gift and his belief in the work of the Lord, the Power of 3 was born. The Power of 3 is a campaign designed to watch God multiply Daniel’s $3. Similar to the story of The Widow’s Offering in Mark 12, it is not the amount given, it is the heart behind it.

When you give to The Power of 3 and select Burton, your donation goes directly toward the current project at our location. If there are any funds leftover from the current project, all donations will roll over into our next project.

As we continue to invite our friends, family, and community into the space the Lord has blessed us with, it is our job to be diligent in keeping up with proper maintenance. We all know that our parking lot could use a little TLC; that being said our current Power of 3 goal is to repave portions of our parking lot.
