“The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” Revelation 3:21-22
This is Jesus’ final and harsh message addressed to the church at Laodicean. The church was unenthusiastic, they have shown little or no excitement for the Lord. They also claimed to be rich in wealth but not in spirit. Jesus offers them a second chance. With this, the relationship with the church is back on mission.
Laodicea was the worst of the seven churches. Jesus offers them the chance to repent and become one of Jesus’ overcomers. This is also the same chance we are given today. This shows that Jesus loves us so much we are given many chances to become one of His children.
Salvation is a gift from the Lord to all of us. This is offered to us as a special reward. It shows that the Lord loves all of us no matter how many times we have turned our back on Him.
We are given the chance to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to us.
If we had opened our ears, we would have heard this message from the Spirit many times. The Holy Spirit has always been there, but our minds and hearts did not give Him the chance to enter in.
I grew up in church, I knew who God was, yet I did not have the Holy Spirit in me. I did not understand what was missing was a personal relationship with Jesus. Sometimes it takes a lifetime to find the truth. It did for me. We are to walk in the Spirit. We should live our lives in the truth and light. The gift is eternity.
I heard the message but missed it over and over. Then one day my ears were opened, and then my mind was opened, and I gave my heart to Jesus. I am now an overcomer, and you can be too!
