Serve in the Community
At The River Church, you will often hear the phrase, “we don’t go to church, we are the Church.” We believe that as God’s people, our primary purpose and goal is to go out to make disciples of Jesus Christ. We encourage you to get involved with some of the areas that are devoted to reaching the world in our local communities.

Opportunities to serve with The River Church

The River Community Center
At the Community Center, we love to serve the community of Holly and those in our surrounding communities. This is accomplished by providing for physical needs, while also seeking every opportunity to share the Gospel. It is our hope that the entire community of Holly will feel welcome. We want them to know that there is a God and church that loves them by the love that they receive at the Community Center.

Hogs in Ministry
Hogs In Ministry (H-I-M) is a ministry serving people that much of the world, and many times the church, has overlooked in the past. Our desire is to reach bikers that may not know Jesus. We want to reach the inmates that are in jails and prisons. We also want to serve those with addiction and recovery needs. We know that the only hope for anyone far from God is the Good News of Jesus Christ. Hogs In Ministry wants to share the gospel with every person that they may encounter and serve.

Opportunities to serve with our partners

Community Events
We believe the church is meant to be local. We are one church in many locations because of that belief. Along with that belief is the desire to be deeply involved in every community that we have a location, or where we have families living. Throughout the year, these communities have special events, festivals, and needs. Some examples of our community partnerships include: Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce, Grand Blanc Community Schools, Good Times in Goodrich, Goodrich Area Schools, Grand Blanc Family Fun Fest, Goodrich/Atlas Chamber of Commerce, Lapeer Chamber of Commerce, the Crim, Back to the Bricks, and many more. If you know of an upcoming event in your community, or you want to find out how The River is involved in your community, let us know. We would love to get you plugged in!
