The River Devotional – January 9th

Happy New Year! As you begin the New Year, with all of the promises and resolutions of change, may you remember where real “newness” comes from. II Corinthians 5:17 says, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” Jesus is the one who brings change in our life. Whether we are trying to quit a bad habit, lose a few pounds, or striving to put Christ as the center of our life, we must remember whom we seek in this time of change. I love the end of the verse that highlights the departure of the “old” and the arrival of “new”. January 1st brought in 2015, a NEW year. May the old dissipate in your life and may you put Christ at the center of the new. My prayer for you is that no matter what area of change you seek in your life, you make Jesus Christ the center of that change.
